Terms, in plain English.

Last updated 31 August 2026

The short version: Tabi is a small app made by one person, and it is still in beta. Use it for anything you like. What you say and what you write stays yours. Do not use the relay to run something that is not Tabi, and do not clone a voice that is not yours. If it breaks, tell me and I will fix it, but I cannot promise it will never break.

Using Tabi

You may install and use Tabi on your own Macs, for personal work or paid work, for as long as the beta runs. You do not need an account and you are not signing up for anything. You may not sell Tabi, pass it off as your own, or take it apart to reuse the relay for something that is not Tabi.

This is a beta

Features can change, move, or be removed, and the app can have bugs. Things that work today might not work tomorrow. The beta is free while it lasts. If Tabi later costs money, you will be told before that happens and you will never be charged without agreeing to it first.

What you say stays yours

Your recordings, your takes, and anything Tabi writes for you belong to you. No claim is made on any of it. How your words travel is described on the privacy page, and that page is part of these terms.

Fair use of the relay

During the beta the app's calls to Mistral travel through a relay that carries the API key, so every take costs real money. There are daily limits, and the app shows you where you stand against them. Please do not script the relay, share the app's token, or run bulk jobs through it. Doing that ends access for that install, which is the only reason the usage counts exist.

Voices

Read aloud can use a voice built from a sample you provide. Only clone a voice that is yours, or one you have clear permission to use. Cloning someone else's voice without their consent is your responsibility, not Tabi's.

No warranty, and what I am liable for

Tabi is provided as it is, with no promise that it will be available, accurate, or fit for a particular job. Dictation makes mistakes and cleanup can change meaning, so read what lands before you send it. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for lost work, lost income, or anything that follows from using or not being able to use the app. Nothing here removes rights you have that cannot be removed by agreement.

If you are in the EU, the EEA, or the UK

You keep every mandatory consumer right your own country gives you, and nothing on this page limits them. These terms are governed by the laws of India, but that choice does not take away the protection of rules that apply to you where you live, and you can bring a claim in your own courts.

Ending it

You can stop using Tabi at any time by deleting the app and your history folder. Access to the relay can be ended for an install that abuses it, as described above. The beta itself can be ended, and if that happens it will be said on this site.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Nothing here changes retroactively for something that already happened.

Getting in touch

Write to contact@heytabi.app. A real person reads it.

Tabi is built by one person, and this page is written to be read, not to cover anyone. If something above is unclear or looks wrong, please say so.
